Responsibilities:

  • Perform day-to-day computer operations such as the execution of batch jobs, system backup and monitoring of online services in the Mainframe (MVS) and AS/400 system in a 24x7 environment.
  • Perform open system monitoring functions and provide support.
  • Ensure timely batch service delivery is kept at optimum service level.
  • Monitor the data center facilities, system uptime, system performance and online services.
  • Provide operational support such as QA checklists, start-up/shutdown system tasks and system IPL.
  • Diagnose and log hardware problems and system errors into problem ticketing system, coordinate problem resolution with respective vendor or system programmer.
  • Escalate unresolved problems to next level or vendor.
  • Maintain proper operation documentation and records
