THE OPPORTUNITY - CONTRACT INSTRUCTOR - FINANCE, BUSINESS AND LEADERSHIP COURSES (SEE COURSE DESCRIPTION BELOW)
An Instructor teaches in discipline areas in which he/she has specific training and competence. Instructors are responsible for the planning, preparation, and delivery of instruction and evaluation of learners. This position includes administrative duties, liaising with community, government and industry representatives and working with other College departments, as required.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
- A post-secondary degree relevant to the subject matter of the course and 2 years work experience in a career occupation relevant to the subject matter of the course; or a combination of work experience and/or industry certification in a career occupation relevant to the subject matter of the course
- PHD/MBA in Business /Finance/Leadership preferred.
- Knowledge, skills, and or training in instruction/teaching
- Ability to meet deadlines, work independently, resolve problems and make decisions in accordance with College policies and procedures
- Knowledge and skills in current technology applications relevant to the program content.
- Excellent communication skills (both written and oral)
- Experience with International Students would be an asset.

COURSE DESCRIPTIONS
MGT3100 - Financial Management- This course applies the concepts of financial management relevant to non-financial managers. Building on fundamental business principles, learners will examine the relationship among the fundamental financial management accounting tools. Through case studies and exercises, they will learn about the role of integrated financial statements (balance sheet, income statement and cash flow budgets) in strategic planning and operational decision making in a dynamic organizational environment.
MGT4000- Strategic Business Management- The purpose of this course is to enable the student to draw on analytical tools and previous knowledge to analyze complex business problems in order to provide sound recommendations communicated through a professional report and presentation.
MGL2100- Foundations in Professional Leadership and Learning- Students will develop foundational self-knowledge to help them identify how they work with others, identify personal strengths, and identify areas for growth in the pursuit of professional learning. This self-knowledge will enable students to recognize the lenses through which they analyze information as an introduction to professional leadership skills. Students will demonstrate respect for ethical conduct within the agriculture industry.
