We are looking for a Contract Manager to be based at our site in Grange Park 3 (NN4 5BF).
The successful post holder will effectively manage all AstraZeneca & Karo Healthcare road-freight activities to ensure delivery of Yusen Logistics’ service commitment and customer expectations across client’s global supply chain, through robust and sustainable processes aligned to quality, service and cost control. With the support of Procurement, Commercial, Business Development, Quality and IT, you will manage and monitor progress for the success of the contracts. You will be responsible for delivering a smooth transition and implementation of all requests from customer stakeholders and ensure Yusen internal expectations are met in line with pre-agreed commercial and budgetary requirements.
The role will offer a salary range of up to £65,000 (DOE) per annum with the opportunity to work remotely up to 3 days per week.

Main Responsibilities:
- Operations/Customer Service
- Develop and manage the achievement of SLAs, identify improvements associated with quality, service and cost, and trend root cause analyses of issues for improvement.
- Ensure adherence to contractual obligations via KPI implementation and management.
- Ensure targeted KPIs are reported internally and externally and present data to demonstrate achievements of SLAs.
- Design re-evaluates and test Yusen BCPs, as well as other operational policies and procedures
- Engage with key customer stakeholders to maintain existing relationships and provide a platform for further organic growth.
- Key escalation point for customers, ensuring queries are managed in a professional and timely manner, and appropriate actions taken.
- Direct interface into client Logistics and Distribution team to senior level.
- Manage all aspects of Change control that affects the operation
- Financial & Legal
- Manage contract renewals and enter renegotiations through lane tenders.
- Manage Profit & Loss for customer accounts, ensuring budgetary targets are achieved, escalating any deviances as appropriate in a timely manner.
- Manage procurement activity delivery, i.e. market tenders, benchmarking, and engagement with potential new suppliers.
- Work with other Contract managers on Budgets / Forecast production.
- Review and monitor achievement of Yusen budgetary performance.
- Compile a detailed monthly service summary report to Yusen senior management. Identify and track all cost saving initiatives.
- Capable of developing clear and up-to-date procedural documentation.
- Quality
- Support site and haulier audits and manage any improvement plans identified.
- Lead and support the resolution of issues through root cause analyses and control/preventative actions, ensuring the necessary communication channels are followed and working closely with the Yusen Quality Assurance team.
- Drive standardisation in line with client base principles; create new and streamline/optimise existing processes, drive continuous improvement in specific solutions delivering benefit to the customer.
Knowledge, skills and experience:
- Extensive overall logistics management experience, preferably in a 3/4PL pharmaceutical environment is desirable.
- Commercial awareness and cost management is desirable
- Financial and commercial awareness.
- Proficient in the use of all MS Office packages; systems awareness data analysis skills.
- IT – Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI
- Strong understanding and experience of change management principles and approaches.
- Self-motivated, resilient and highly organised.
