Description:

Responsible for the review and negotiation of contracts to achieve business objectives while mitigating risks to the company.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, customer service skills and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as contracts and financial reports. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence and fill out all paperwork associated with the job.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills; using logic and reasoning to identify alternative solutions or approaches to problems and demonstrates the ability to implement them.
  • Ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense.
  • Must be personable, highly organized and capable of effective, efficient multi-tasking.
  • Strong work ethic and emphasis on attention to detail.
  • Computer skills and ability to use company’s software systems.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • One to two (1-2) years related work experience.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel and Outlook.

Responsibilities:

  • Reviews and provides risk management consultation on all contracts submitted, including customer, vendor, subcontractors, etc.
  • Serves as the point of contact for internal and external customers on all contractual matters.
  • Ensures timely review, approval or negotiation and reconciliation of variations regarding all contracts.
  • Advises management of contractual rights and obligations and provides interpretation of all terms and conditions.
  • Researches, recommends and creates contract policies, procedures and contractual documents.
  • Coordinates with legal counsel as needed to negotiate with vendors and customers; ensures signed contracts are communicated to all relevant parties to provide contract visibility and awareness.
  • Assists in the development and maintenance of the contract database and recommends improvements.
  • Works closely with external and internal resources to ensure contracts do not violate insurance policy requirements.
  • Assist in the documentation of internal policies and procedures to mitigate internal risk.
  • Regular, physical attendance on a predictable basis is essential to the performance of this job.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned by Supervisor and/or Management.
