Description:

Our global operations are located in two of the largest and most productive metallurgical coal basins in the world, the Bowen Basin in Queensland, Australia and the Central Appalachian region of the US, servicing customers throughout the Asia-Pacific, Americas and European regions.

Responsibilities:

Located in our Brisbane Corporate office you will assist the Corporate Accounting team in ensuring the successful preparation, review and delivery of the Coronado Group consolidated results in compliance with Executive Management and Board reporting timeframes. This role will be a fixed-term contract.

Your role will be rewarding and varied, where you will:

  • Prepare monthly management accounts for Australian and Group corporate entities, in line with USGAAP and AIFRS (including SG&A, other corporate accounts, foreign currency, employee benefits, tax, intercompany, eliminations, subledger reconciliations, etc.) Review capital work in progress and maintain fixed assets
  • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and review corporate trial balances
  • Prepare and analyse SG&A reports, cost management reports, and assist in presentations to Management
  • Assist with quarterly, half-year, and year-end external audit processes for the Coronado Group
  • Perform accounting tasks in line with best practice corporate governance, supporting internal controls documentation
  • Provide ad-hoc support for direct tax obligations and Treasury functions
  • Contribute to the annual SG&A budget preparation and ERP system implementations
  • Maintain regular communication with finance teams in the US and Australia for Accounting and Reporting support
