Introduction
This job role will have expertise in managing and operating IT hardware, software, communications, and/or application solutions, and the resources required to plan for, develop, deliver, and support properly engineered IT services and products to meet the needs of a business. Focus on Take-out projects, replacing competitor softwares to IBM solutions on Z.
The scope of this job role includes preparation for new or changed services, management of the change process, and maintenance of regulatory, legal, and professional standards, management of performance of systems and services in relation to their contribution to business performance, and management of bought-in services including, for example, public network, virtual private network, and outsourced services.
Typical examples of the deliverables are service-level reporting, risk, and contingency planning.

Your Role and Responsibilities

  • The scope of this job role includes preparation for new or changed services, management of the change process, and maintenance of regulatory, legal, and professional standards, management of performance of systems and services in relation to their contribution to business performance, and management of bought-in services including, for example, public network, virtual private network, and outsourced services. Typical examples of the deliverables are service-level reporting, risk, and contingency planning.
  • IT Specialists who primarily apply their technical skills in an internal or external customer billable services and implementation environment. The employee guides functional objectives or technologies.
  • Environment: Professional knowledge related to incumbent’s function/business unit and its processes.
  • Communication/Negotiation: Advise other professionals. Effectively utilize group dynamics. Negotiate to define approaches and goals.
  • Problem Solving: Recognize complex problems related to functional objectives. Analyze situations and implement solutions, or develop new system elements, procedures or processes. Creativity and judgment applied to developmental work on different projects within the business environment.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Solid experience in the area: z/OS Operational System.
  • z/OS environment and facilities (ie. TSO, SDSF, USS, zFS, etc.).
  • Base Software, and its tools or facilities (ie CICS, Db2, MQ).
  • Installation and configuration of products and/or tools (Parmlibs, Proclibs, SMPE, etc.). Deploy or “life cycle code” in different levels or instances.
  • Problem Analysis and Best Practices implementation
  • Fluent English
  • Concepts of:

Monitoring and Reporting (SMF, RMF, reporting tools)
Communications (TCPIP)
Security (RACF)
Non z/OS platforms to improve the installation processes in cross platform solutions or services
Cloud solutions
Languages like REXX, CLIST, JCL, Markup and others

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

  • COBOL language
  • Knowledge of other platforms like AS400
