REQUIREMENTS

  • Experience/understanding of the flexible workspace sector
  • Good technical understanding of UK regulations, including building control and fire regulations
  • Proficient in creating design packages
  • Understanding of building construction techniques, base build and fit-out
  • Knowledge of shell and core, CAT A and CAT B definitions
  • Good knowledge of mechanical and electrical services for commercial environments
  • Good technical detailing capability
  • Good space planning experience
  • Design/Architecture related degree or equivalent
  • Understanding of RICS measurement standards
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Good business acumen and commercial understanding
  • Design software familiarity, ideally including Revit, Vectorworks and Adobe Suite Packages
  • Design/Architecture related degree or equivalent
  • Well rounded design and documentation skills
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure, across multiple projects in an entrepreneurial and dynamic environment
  • Good written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities:

THE ROLE

The Office Group is seeking a passionate, collaborative and highly driven Designer to join the Design and Development team. Within this role you will provide support to senior design team members and be able to lead, when required, on design projects across various business critical workstreams, from driving sales through client alterations to capturing real-time inventory/area matrices.
The ideal candidate will be able to take ownership of the entire client alteration design journey; liaising with both our new and existing customers to capture their brief, create a considered design that reflects the style and constraints of the existing building and working closely with our internal project managers to deliver workspaces that meet their unique requirements.
We are looking for a designer who has experience across all aspect of the design process, ideally with UK workplace experience or a background in space planning who is experienced in presenting to clients, adept at client management and who is familiar with the relevant building codes and regulations.
