Description:

WE HELP THE WORLD RUN BETTER

At SAP, we enable you to bring out your best. Our company culture is focused on collaboration and a shared passion to help the world run better. How? We focus every day on building the foundation for tomorrow and creating a workplace that embraces differences, values flexibility, and is aligned to our purpose-driven and future-focused work. We offer a highly collaborative, caring team environment with a strong focus on learning and development, recognition for your individual contributions, and a variety of benefit options for you to choose from.

Responsibilities:

SUMMARY AND ROLE DESCRIPTION:

The Gateway ABAP development team is responsible for developing one of the most crucial components of SAP’s ABAP stack - OData Provisioning, also known as Gateway. Over the past years, OData has become the de facto standard for data handling between backend and frontend. We’re looking to strengthen the development team with a strong team player who’s passionate about software development and engineering in context of a large scale enterprise-grade technology stack. Due to the central and critical role of our component, a strong quality mindset with regards to functionality as well as non-functional aspects is a must. Within our team we practice a trust-based working model.

YOUR TASKS WILL INCLUDE:

  • Design and implementation (in ABAP) of critical functionality in the new OData v4 stack
  • Alignment with Product Owner and Architect on evolving our framework with new features and with a strong focus on robustness, maintainability, and scalability
  • Driving the adoption of novel methods to cater for short cycle deliveries to the cloud
  • Work on resolving OData-related issues in productive cloud and onPremise systems
  • Act as a mentor and role model for junior colleagues in the team
