Responsibilities:

YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES WILL BE:

  • Partner with sales, marketing and IT leaders to gain alignment towards vision and goals
  • Partner with sales and marketing individual contributors to understand ground truths
  • Understand existing Ciena IT technology landscape and sales / marketing processes
  • Propose, develop, and document new processes and system architectures to achieve greater sales and marketing efficiency and happier customers
  • Share and sell future state to executives, leaders and individual contributors in various teams
  • Partner with delivery teams to ensure execution against the architecture
  • Mentor business analysts and help them to grow and learn from them to augment your own capabilities.
  • Explore new technologies and capabilities, determine which are applicable (and when) for Ciena
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define requirements, deliverables, and set expectations on tasks.
  • Partner with external vendors on solution proposal and development when appropriate
  • Document all work and best practices for consumption by implementation teams and analysts
  • Advise on build vs buy, custom vs out of the box, Salesforce vs other system for technology solution decisions

This role will have expansive scope across the sales and marketing process, as well as touching on adjacent spaces in order management, accounting, and others. Example challenges:

  • Determine IT architecture for digital marketing systems to automate delivery of the right marketing asset at the right time to prospective and existing customers.
  • Architect data flow to ensure sales teams have a complete 360° view of customer data including services, orders and financials.
  • Architect a system to determine sales deal win probability based on data signals
  • Use metrics to identify bottlenecks in the sales process and advise on technology powered solutions to improve
  • Leverage AI connected to our data to enable sellers to save time and make better decisions
  • Partner with business stakeholders and implementation teams to determine the best technology for a customer collaboration portal
