The Director of Early Learning and Child Care provides leadership for Early Learning and Child Care across the territory. This includes direction regarding the integration and implementation of Early Learning and Child Care within the Department of Education, ensuring efficient and effective planning, development, implementation and evaluation of legislation, standards, policies, programs, strategies and budgets for the branch. This position ensures establishment of processes to effectively monitor and maintain financial, human and physical resources of the branch. The incumbent is accountable for ensuring that the policies, programs and service delivery support legislative requirements, meet client’s needs, are culturally appropriate, resource effective and contribute towards the wellness of Yukoners.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
- Senior leadership experience with leading and motivating high-performing teams to achieve organizational goals
- Experience developing, implementing and evaluating large scale projects and programs that include a large financial component in a government setting
- Experience communicating and successfully influencing across a broad spectrum of stakeholder groups
- Experience managing human and financial resources in a complex and changing environment, preferably in a government setting which includes managing funding agreements such as transfer payments
Candidates who have education, training, and/or experience equivalent to the essential qualifications listed above may be equally considered.
