YOUR TOOLBOX (REQUIREMENTS)

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Finance / Accounting / Economics) or Master’s Degree (MBA)
  • Minimum 15 total years of experience acquired in Finance & Accounting positions, Tax Accountancy, Consultancy, Private Equity including 6-8 years of similar operational role in manufacturing industry
  • Excellent Accounting and Controlling know-how in particular in US-GAAP accounting and reporting, experience in budgeting and forecasting
  • SAP FI/CO experience required (Project Systems)
  • Hyperion reporting experience preferred
  • Highly effective project management and strong leadership skills (proven leadership experience is required)
  • Experience in working in a matrix organization in a US-based multinational company is a plus
  • Hands-on mentality, solution driven and end product problem solver
  • Approximately 25-35% travel to domestic and international locations
  • Fluency in English and German is required; fluency in Dutch is a plus

Responsibilities:

THE BLUEPRINT (ROLE SUMMARY)

The Director Finance EMEA will report directly to the VP Finance Global Power Tools and will managing the European finance department, including structuring daily operation, as well as transfer knowledge into the finance department. In this Role we offer you the opportunity to roll up your sleeves and be part of making a difference in an international and fast moving environment. The successful candidate will work in collaboration with a domestic & international team in a matrixed Strategic Business Unit (SBU) structure. The position has 8 direct reports, and a total of 36 associates.

THE BUILD (RESPONSIBILITIES)

  • Organize, implement and lead a complex multinational network organization which provides integrated financial information systems and services, financial consultancy, tax and fiscal accounting guidance, controller services, business auditing, treasury for all legal entities across EMEA region including our Shared Service Center in Hungary.
  • Develop, present and control the company’s annual budget to ensure that all financial targets are met and financial and statutory regulations complied with.
  • Obtain and analyses complex financial information to provide accurate, reliable and timely conclusions and recommendations to the management for decision making purposes
  • Strong business analysis, financial planning and reporting skills that generate business insights which add measurable value. Current knowledge of trends in finance and functional best-practices
  • Drive continuous improvement and standardization in the finance and administration area.
  • Establish standardized processes to provide from our shared services team in Hungary
  • Responsible for all monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting for the European region
  • Capital management and Cashflow planning, payroll and related functions
  • Coordinating with external and internal auditors, tax agents, etc.
  • Lead the finance Team EMEA to ensure that they are appropriately motivated and developed and so that they carry out their responsibilities to the required standard
  • Act as the managing director for Apex Tool Group legal entities in Europe
  • Other duties as assigned
