Spencer Beach Holiday Park is a recreational destination stretching over 17 hectares, where guests can relax and unwind in a huge campground in the middle of a 70 hectare forested reserve, or take part in one of the many activities nearby. Situated just 20 minutes from the city and airport, we’re also only 500m from the beach. Serving up great experiences and excellent services for our community, our people are nothing short of awe-inspiring in the level of service and assistance they provide for the people of Christchurch and beyond.
Duty Officers are an essential part of our team, you will help us provide a safe, clean, and welcoming environment to our guests at all times. This is a hands-on role focusing on the maintenance aspects of the park, and including grounds work and cleaning, making this a varied role requiring a diverse skill set.

Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE | KO TE MAHI NEI

Day-to-day duties include:

  • General maintenance and upkeep of buildings, equipment, and plant.
  • Grounds maintenance - rubbish runs, gardening, mowing, pruning, and trimming.
  • Assisting improvement projects, such as landscaping, planting, painting, woodwork, ground levelling and site remediation.
  • Cleaning of toilet/shower and kitchen blocks during peak times and if required.
  • Assisting customers if the need arises.

To be successful in this role, you will:

  • Be physically fit and capable of full days of physical duties.
  • Full NZ Drivers Licence & able to drive manual vehicles, is desirable.
  • Comprehensive first aid certificate.
  • Ability to relate well to customers, as we are customer facing.
  • Have a friendly, calm and personable nature; happy to go with the flow and adapt as changes arise.
  • Confident with problem solving and able to communicate well.
  • The ability to work unsupervised.
  • Previous experience in a maintenance or trades role, and able to work safely and confidently with a range of power-tools.
  • Qualifications/Unit standards in any the following would be ideal; Tractors, Chainsaws, Grow-safe
