Responsibilities:
As an Embedded Software Development Engineer, you will be responsible for:
- High quality embedded C code using finite state machines to deliver quality products.
- Investigating problems, debugging across hardware and firmware.
- Leveraging expertise to resolve technical issues.
- Providing legacy product support, resolving issues, adding enhancements and verification through extensive testing.
- Remaining current with new technologies, trends and methodologies which are shared amoung the team in weekly best practices meetings.
- Bring creative ideas and continuous improvement to the development process.
- Contributing to continuous integration & Hardware-in-the-loop testing while developing features.
- Maintaining low power code by throughly testing new features impact on battery life
To be successful in this role you will:
- Have 3 – 5 years of experience in embedded firmware development.
- Have an Engineering Degree from an accredited University.
- Have C programming experience and proven implementation experience.
- Have an understanding of lowpower ARM processors and perpherals including I2C, SPI and DMA.
- Need an understanding of electronic hardware including reading of schematics.
- Write unit tests for features you are developing.
- Be willing to use Python for hardware in the loop test code.
- Collaborate with global engineering teams to promote consistency and maximize synergies across common platforms.
- Have the ability to work independently on assigned tasks and with others to ensure the rapid and co-ordinated development of new products and features
