THE ROLE
Roster: FIFO 8/6 FIFO Roster, flying on Fridays.
Position: Full Time Permanent
Site: Telfer Operations, Gold and Copper mine located in the Great Sandy Desert in WA.
Reporting into the Senior Engineer- Underground Mining our Telfer Operations are seeking an Engineer – Production, to ensure the optimal recovery of resources and the achievement of quarterly production targets. You will work along side other competent Engineers to support the operations.
OTHER KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Ensure optimal recovery of the resource and delivery of quarterly targets through creation of fit for purpose drill and blast designs of the stopes and management of the mine production schedule in the short to medium term timeframe.
- optimising resource usage to meet expectations and creating both weekly and monthly schedules while applying underground mining principles and production constraints.
- Developing level plans and stope notes, monitoring adherence to schedules, managing overdraw requirements with necessary approvals, and generating Automine and drill/charge plans.
- Data collection, entry, and analysis of production performance are crucial, as is inspecting drilling conditions, charges, and blast results, along with performing QAQC inspections.
- Troubleshooting and improving blast control units, communicating schedules with key stakeholders, and mentoring new and graduate staff as needed.
- Demonstrates a safety-first culture and leadership in field activities, ensuring adherence to industry safety standards.
- Works effectively as part of a team, supporting team members and contributing to overall outcomes.
