Are you a seasoned professional with experience working with large corporations to implement decarbonisation and net-zero pathways? Are you an empathetic leader with a proven track record of building empowered teams in a fast paced agile environment? Then you’ve come to the right place! We’re looking for a compassionate and experienced Engineering Manager to lead our Onboarding Squad. As an Engineering Manager at Plan A, your main responsibilities will be to provide leadership, guidance and mentorship, as well as oversight over the development of our carbon emissions accounting product.
Your responsibilities
Take accountability for planning and prioritising the technical work in the squad, ensuring the team is clear on what should be built and how
Manage and coordinate delivery of projects and features in the squad according to timelines committed to by the squad
Provide a point of contact for stakeholders to address issues, and communicate information about team progress and timelines
Establish a reporting line with the individuals in the team, and support individuals in day-to-day work and professional development
Identify capacity gaps in the team, and manage the hiring process to fill potential gaps
Requirements
Pragmatic and user-centric mindset
Strong people management and leadership skills with the ability to mentor, coach, and develop team members
Experience in planning, coordinating, and delivering technical projects
Experience in driving technical and operational excellence within teams
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills
Strong technical background, with hands-on experience in software development (eg. React, Typescript, Laravel, Python, PHP)
Knowledge and experience of agile development best practices, including Scrum, Kanban, sprint reviews, defining and writing user stories
