Description:

FuzeHR is now seeking Engineering Sales professionals with expertise in extrusion or injection processes in the plasitcs manufacturing space! This role is well-suited to a Process Engineer or simlar with 5+ years of experience relating to plastics, polymers, and/or extrusion processes coupled coupled with a polished, professional personality and strong sales/servicce skills. The primary objective of this role will be assess customer application requirements and provide suitable engineered solutions. WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS?

  • 5 + years of experience as Process Engineer or similar within a relevant environment: plastics or polymer manufacturing, plastics extrusion, etc
  • Post Secondary Degree - Process Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, Industrial Engineer, Chemical Engineer, or similar
  • High degree of expertise pertaining to extrusion processes, effective use of polymers and their various applications
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to disemminate technical information effectively and communicate complex concepts in a way that others can understand

Responsibilities:

  • Act a specialist in the science and engineering of polymer-based material solutions
  • Evaluate customer application needs and recommend/develop new materials, create innovative solutions
  • Develop application-specific testing methods, optimize manufacturing processes to meet the customer’s material requirements and performance specifications
  • In-depth product development utilizing project management and product development principles, document technology advances and application successes, present to senior management and industry experts as appropriate
  • Develop new product plans and make recommendations for material selection based on design objectives (strenght, weight, continuous use temps, weatherability, colour hold, cost, etc)
  • Suggest technical design or process changes to improve efficiency, quality, or performance
  • Provide technical leadership to the building & infrastcture segment, support new business development
  • Collaborate with account managers and R&D to build the pipeline of future application opportunities, ensure technical success, and drive robust, long-term customer relationships via effective technical and service support
  • Promote company visibility in the marketplace by participatin in relevant conferences, trade shows, and industry initiatives
  • Lead new product introduction and commercialization process
  • Conduct benchmarking and performance tests on materials and finished products, analyze product performance data and lab test results for root cause analysis and corrective actions
  • Perform competitive assessment, communicate findings to management & make recommendations for improvement; develop methods to characterize material solutions in lab to meet cost, performance, industry standards, and desired life cycle behavior
  • Other dutes as required - this is a multi-facted role!
