As an Enterprise Risk Management – Risk Consultant you will have the opportunity to support the development of effective firmwide enterprise risk management processes, risk culture, and maturity across the firm by delivering proactive, high quality and value-added service as part of a maturing central risk function at Forvis Mazars.
This internal facing role will principally involve working with the Enterprise Risk Senior Managers in their respective roles, helping to enhance and develop high-quality risk management processes, frameworks, and culture across the organisation. This will include supporting the strategic approach for Enterprise Risk Management firmwide and developing a sustainable and value adding service for the business to manage its risk profile.
You will report to the Enterprise Risk Senior Manager. They in turn report to the Enterprise Risk Director, feeding into the Executive Committee, Chair of the Risk and Quality Committee (RQC) as well as the Audit and Risk Committee (ARC), and Governance Council (GC).
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE
- Good understanding of Enterprise-wide Risk Management
- Professional qualifications (or working towards) in Risk Management such as IRM certification or membership of other relevant professional bodies
- Experience engaging with and presenting to stakeholders, and challenging rationales as part of an independent risk oversight function
- Proficiency in technical and administrative skills for working with risk management applications/tools
- Self-motivated with a desire to learn
- Ability to operate on multiple tasks whilst still achieving high delivery standards
- Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
Responsibilities:
- Work within ERM to provide oversight and challenge to business stakeholders across the firm to ensure functions operate within the defined risk appetite, and issues are remediated
- Maintain relationships with stakeholders to facilitate oversight and effectiveness of the control environment
- Validate that business Key Risk and Performance Indicators are accurately captured and included in prioritisation activities
- Provide strategic risk management advice and identify emerging risks and required actions firmwide
- Aid in the reporting process to governance fora within the business on key risk areas, drawing management information from the GRC system and external sources
- Maintain oversight of risk treatment plans / risk treatment trackers
- Work in collaboration with other business units to support strategic initiatives
- Progress the risk maturity journey of Forvis Mazars through implementation of risk management frameworks and procedures
- Provide risk management advice and guidance to business stakeholders
