Amida is looking for an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Entry-Level SQA Engineer to join our quality assurance team. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates who are passionate about software testing and eager to kickstart their career in QA. The ideal candidate will have foundational knowledge of software testing principles, experience with Agile methodologies, and certifications to demonstrate their commitment to quality and learning.

What you will do:

• Assist in developing and executing test cases, scripts, and plans to ensure software quality.
• Perform functional, regression, and exploratory testing on web and mobile applications.
• Document and report defects with clear and accurate descriptions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, business analysts, and product owners, to ensure requirements are understood and quality standards are met.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies such as daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
• Gain a thorough understanding of product features and business requirements to contribute effectively to testing activities.
• Report, track, and manage defects using tools like JIRA, and work closely with the development team to resolve issues, often related to configuration rather than code changes
• Perform cross-platform and cross-browser testing to ensure compatibility across various environments
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and governance policies, particularly focusing on data handling and integration security
• Stay updated with the latest trends and best practices in QA

REQUIRED SKILLS:

• ASTQB Certified Tester - Demonstrates a solid foundation in software testing principles and methodologies.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with business users and developers
• Detail-oriented with a strong focus on quality
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Bachelor’s degree in science
• Able to obtain Public Trust clearance.

PREFERRED SKILLS:

• Familiarity with compliance and regulatory requirements in software
• Proficiency in using Jira for tracking tasks and managing workflows in an Agile environment.
• Knowledge and understanding of Agile principles and the Scrum framework to effectively contribute to Agile teams
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Basic understanding of software development and testing lifecycle
• Ability to work effectively both independently and in a collaborative team environment
• Strong communication skills and ability to articulate testing activities and findings clearly
