Description:

JOB SUMMARY

This position is responsible for providing direction and analytical support for fundamental stock research, economic research and strategy, and performance analysis and attribution related to the Global Equity investments portfolio. Makes buy, sell, and hold stock recommendations based on research and analysis conducted.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, business administration, or economics; 10+ years of investment experience; CFA designation and/or MBA; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Proficiency in spreadsheet and word-processing software packages; experience with Bloomberg and/or FactSet is preferred
  • Quantitative aptitude, as evidenced by academic achievement and/or work experience
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills
  • Oral and written communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
  • Thorough understanding of financial markets, concepts, principles and theories
  • Knowledge of macroeconomics and its influence on investments
  • Extensive knowledge of fundamental, technical and quantitative stock analysis and valuation techniques
  • Ability to understand, interpret, and analyze balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and with others in a team environment
  • Interpersonal skills including leadership, training, and conflict resolution
  • Ability to travel both domestically and internationally as necessary for business purposes

Responsibilities:

  • Leads equity research, company modeling, and analytical functions to support the internal management of the public equity asset class which contains global stocks across the market capitalization spectrum
  • Engages in industry and sector analysis and makes purchase and sale stock recommendations
  • Sources and recommends potential investments while maintaining coverage of existing holdings within a given sector; may cover two or more global sectors
  • Reviews macroeconomics analyses and contributes to the formulation of timely and appropriate investment strategies for the equity funds in assigned portfolio area
  • Utilizes investment software to facilitate decisions
  • Leads due diligence meetings with company management and sell-side professionals
  • Monitors and manages relationships with external investment managers; evaluates and selects new external managers
  • Leads legal process and negotiation relating to Global Equity investments
  • Provides direction and training to more junior staff; provides coaching and feedback as necessary
  • Partners with division management and Human Resources in the interviewing and hiring of new employees
  • Participates in training and educational opportunities for ongoing professional development
  • Maintains regular and prompt attendance in the workplace
  • Carries out other duties as assigned
