Our expertise includes Large-Diameter Piles, DTH drilled piles, Screw Piles, Ground Improvement techniques such as Stone Columns, Vibro Concrete Columns (VCC), Timber Compaction Piling, and Shoring services like Sheet Piles, Cofferdams, Combi-Walls, and H-Pile Lagging Systems.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

  • University degree in Engineering or diploma in Civil Technology
  • Eligibility for registration as an AScT or EIT/P.Eng. in the province of BC
  • 5 years of heavy construction project experience with geotechnical engineering experience
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting design drawings and specifications
  • Knowledge of estimating, cost control, planning, and project management techniques
  • Familiarity with software tools such as AutoCAD, Bluebeam, HeavyBid, and MS Office
  • Strong English communication skills (both verbal and written)
  • High personal, professional, and ethical standards
  • Collaborative, proactive, and results-oriented approach

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in Tendering Process: Play a vital role in all aspects of the tendering process, ensuring accurate and competitive estimates.
  • Read and Understand Design Drawings: Familiarize yourself with project requirements by interpreting design drawings and specifications.
  • Prepare Detailed Estimates: Create firm, budget, and unit price estimates for labor, materials, equipment, permits, and more.
  • Collaborate with Stakeholders: Liaise with client representatives, government officials, design engineers, vendors, and subcontractors.
  • Analyze and Compare Quotations: Evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations to make informed decisions.
  • Create Project Schedules: Develop preliminary project schedules to guide successful project execution.
  • Work with Field Staff: Collaborate with field staff to determine equipment productivity and construction methodologies.
  • Utilize Estimating Software: Leverage HeavyBid estimating software to build accurate estimates.
  • Safety and Environment Commitment: Prioritize health, safety, and environmental considerations within each estimate.
  • Participate in Reviews: Engage in estimate reviews with senior management.
  • Tender Submissions and Post-Tender Inquiries: Develop tender submissions and respond to inquiries after tendering.
  • Project Handover Meetings: Advise field staff on construction procedures and methods during project handover meetings.
  • Mentorship Opportunity: Contribute to the training and development of junior estimators.
  • Other Assigned Duties: Collaborate with the Lead Estimator on additional tasks.
