Our HQ is based in Rotterdam, Netherlands with our Australian region, boasting a fleet of over 30 vessels across multiple ports along the East Coast, where we pride ourselves on our safety culture, work ethic and commitment to the environment. We are seeking dynamic and experienced Finance Accountant to join our Head Office in Port Botany.
Reporting to the Regional Business Controller, Sydney you will join a team of five undertaking a full range of financial activities including reporting, budgeting, forecasting, analysis, and asset control to ensure the effective and efficient achievement of the outcomes of the business. The successful Financial Accountant applicant will manage end-of-month activities and provide support across the business. This is a full time Sydney based position with very flexible WFH arrangements. Own transport is essential given location of office.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Demonstrated ability of working in a small-medium team working to clear deadlines and under pressure.
  • High level of organisational and planning skills, and the ability to balance multiple priorities and conflicting deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to deliver high quality outcomes that are accurate, complete, and timely.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and act as trusted finance business partner
  • Problem solver. Contribute to the design and implementation of solutions to enable goals to be delivered.
  • At least 3+ years of experience as a Financial Accountant
  • CA/CPA qualification (preferred), with a degree in Accounting, Commerce or/and Finance
  • Experience with Australian company reporting (essential)
  • High-level technical expertise in Australian Accounting Standards
  • Willingness to add value and seek to speak up and improve the business processes.
  • A strong communicator (verbal and written)
    Additional Information

Responsibilities:

  • Execute the financial administration (GL) for one or more assigned contracts/entities
  • Prepare monthly balance sheets
  • Run the monthly closing process, including inter-company reconciliations
  • Prepare and submit monthly financial reports (P&L , Balance Sheet, movement schedules) and management reports (analysis)
  • Prepare budgets and forecasts
  • Monitor and control the account SSC activities
  • Monitor and control the right valuation and depreciation of assigned fixed assets
  • Prepare and submit tax-filings in compliance with local legislation
  • Prepare annual financial statements
  • Participate in internal and external audits
  • Monitor and ensure a proper filing of relevant documents
  • Participate in Finance projects and contribute to the development and optimization of financial processes
