In this newly created position working in our finance team at Heathrow’s Business Service Centre based in Glasgow, the Finance Analyst – Capital Accounting will have the chance to gain exposure right across our business working with a wide variety of stakeholders to provide an interim solution whilst we implement our new Capital Framework, changing the way we analyse our capital expenditure. The Finance Analyst will have an excellent opportunity to build on previous experience by providing detailed analysis within the Capital and Fixed Asset accounting area to support the decision making within the portfolio of assets under construction (£1.7 billion) and completed assets within the fixed asset register (£17.5 billion gross book value).

  • Analysing and reporting on an interim solution which supports the business’ response to our new Capital Framework.
  • Preparing the month end accounting information, developing analysis and commentary to be used by Project and Capital Portfolio management and the business to inform financial decision making.
  • Contributing to core business drivers through the Business Services Balanced Business Scorecard framework and operational performance mechanisms.
  • Supporting the timely data capture of Business Services operational performance measurements to validate operational efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Proactively identifying and supporting the implementation of continuous improvement opportunities to enhance operational performance standards.
  • Qualified or part-qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA or other if applicable).
  • Highly numerate with strong analytical skills evidenced through working in a similar Finance Analyst position working with large data sets.
  • Evidence of working on own initiative without close supervision.
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of an organization, both written and verbally, including the ability to influence others.
