Description:

OVERVIEW

Due to recent expansion and continued growth, we are looking to recruit a talented and forward-thinking IT Technician to join our Group IT Department, and be responsible for supporting all IT services at our Wellingborough facility. This is an exciting new position, and will require a lot of autonomous working on-site, with support provided remotely by the IT team at our Grantham Headquarters, and in-person when required.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Proven experience as IT Technician or relevant position
  • A self-starter, able to work alone and ‘get the job done’
  • Excellent diagnostic and problem solving skills and communication ability
  • Outstanding organisational and time-management skills
  • In depth understanding of diverse computer systems and networks
  • Excellent knowledge of internet security and data privacy principles
  • HNC/HND or Degree in Computer Science or relevant field
  • Certification as IT Technician will be an advantage (e.g. CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified IT Professional)

Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Group IT Manager, you’ll be the IT leader on-site and responsible for supporting all staff with Windows 10 - 11 Desktop and Office 365 through our IT Helpdesk. Behind the scenes you’ll be maintaining our servers and data security, so knowledge of Windows Server 2008-2022 is essential, as is SQL Server 2008-2022, Azure, and all aspects of networking. Experience in Active Directory, Windows 10 - 11 Deployment, .net Programming, html are also highly desirable as you’ll be helping to maintain our business systems, company intranet and IT infrastructure.
Bartender print automation knowledge is desirable.
You’ll also be a dab hand at troubleshooting and fixing laptops, mobile devices and other office hardware.
As we install new machinery in our factory, and grow the number of personnel in our offices, you’ll be required to run network and other communications cables throughout the facility, so a good level of physical fitness and agility is required due to the nature of this work which may require climbing ladders, working at height and in tight spaces.
You will be based at our Wellingborough facility and a full UK driving licence plus the flexibility to travel to our other sites in Grantham and Birmingham when required is essential. As our Wellingborough facility works a 3 shift system, you will be the first point of call and may be contacted for emergency IT issues out-of-hours to keep our production running, so flexibility and commitment to is essential.
