Head of Accounting and Financial Control

EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

• ACA / CIMA / ACCA Qualified Accountant
• Experience operating at a senior level, either acting as a #1 in Finance or ready to take that next step, in a fast-paced SME, or division as part of a larger group.
• Able to demonstrate management and improvement of a Financial Control environment in a growth business.
• Experience in a multi-entity organisation preferable.
• Ability to clearly articulate the financial results and position of the business.
• Demonstrate development and growth of a strong Finance team.
• Hands-on, logical approach and ability to challenge the norm to create incremental improvements.

• Manage, mentor and develop a team of 17 with 3 direct reports across 3 sites as the #1 in Finance.
• Monthly presentation of consolidated financial results, noting key movements and variances
• Reviewing and ensuring a strict control environment around balance sheet schedules and cash flow statements
• Internal business partner to Sales, Operations and Credit, helping to design, implement and manage processes to support the ongoing improvement and simplification of the business.
• Financial sign-off for any ad-hoc sales opportunities or large customer credits, ensuring process alignment and revenue recognition.
• Support and feed into the annual budgeting cycle (overheads), ensuring robust, measurable, driver-based forecasts in place.
• Drive and implement transformation projects as part of ongoing integration and simplification of the business unit.
• Support, challenge and drive revenue assurance processes to minimise leakage.
• Responsibility for annual audit process, working with our group team and external auditors.
