Job Description

Tasks

  • As Head of Release Train Engineering (m/f/d) you’ll lead the Agile Release Train (ART) and manage the team both professionally and disciplinary
  • You’re responsible for the continuous improvement & transformation of the agile approach within your ART & guide product management, architects and scrum masters on lean-agile practices & conduct Inspect & Adapt workshops
  • As a communicative interface, you are responsible for efficient collaboration between teams & key stakeholders and you are the central contact person (m/f/d) for internal departments for the implementation of your ART
  • Your area of responsibility also includes the implementation of regular synchronization meetings at ART level, including the ART Sync (PO/PM Sync, Scrum of Scrums) and general ART events
  • Lead the PI planning events and ensure PI planning in advance by requesting the preparation of the product & architecture vision as well as the program backlog from product management & system architects & enable product management to summarize the team’s PI goals into program PI goals and publish them for transparency
  • In your role, you’ll ensure that Product Increments (PIs) are delivered on time / quality and budget, ensure release cadence, monitor quality and measure success against appropriate KPIs

Requirements

  • You’ve successfully completed a university degree and have at least 6-8 years of professional experience in a comparable position
  • You’ve already gained leadership experience and know how to lead and motivate a team
  • The implementation of several relevant projects (waterfall, agile, or mixed) in the IT environment as well as agile transformations & your in-depth knowledge of the various agile methods (SAFe, Scrum, etc.) set you apart from others
  • You’ve completed several training courses on the SAFe methodology (e.g. Leading SAFe, SAFe for Teams, SAFe Scrum Master) and have basic experience in using agile tools (Jira/Confluence) in digital team collaboration
  • You describe your way of working as extremely independent and proactive, with a clear focus on decision making and problem solving
  • Independent presentations to senior management & conducting management meetings are a matter of course for you
  • You’ve relevant experience in leading an international team
  • Good English skills round off your profile
