POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Grey Eagle Resort and Casino is pleased to offer this extremely important role as a key component to raising the bar to best in class High Limit Rooms experience in a casino.
Under the direction of the Food and Beverage Director, Outlet Manager and Outlet Supervisor, the High Limit Gaming Room Server position is applicable to the Smoking and Non-Smoking High Limit Rooms. The Server is responsible for providing top-tier personalized guest experience to VIP and high- spending guests. Ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent customer service, multitasking and communication skills, in - depth knowledge of Asian cuisine, culture and language, and the ability to anticipate and fulfill the unique needs of each guest.
The Server is responsible for adhering to all policies and procedures within the Casino. They are responsible for making each guests experience an enjoyable and positive. Required to take all necessary precautions to ensure the safety and health of guests and that safe work practices are adhered to at all times.
Responsibilities Include:
- Provide top-tier, personalized guest service to VIP and high- spending guests consistent with Company’s core service standards and brand attributes.
- In collaboration with VIP Hosts and Asian Line Chef de Cuisine develop products and relationships to foster customer service first culture within High Limit Rooms.
- Remember menu items, menu prices and hours of operation.
- Take food and beverage orders from guests and accurately enter items into the POS system.
- Accurately and efficiently serve food and beverage items to guests.
- Ensure tables are set, cleared promptly and ready for the next guest.
- Ensure the impeccable cleanliness of working area is maintained at all times.
- Ensure mis en place prior to the start of, and end of each shift.
- Must have perfect product knowledge as well as working knowledge of service etiquette in a Restaurant table service environment and High limit gaming room, where side tables are in use.
- Balance sales receipts at the end of each shift.
- Assist the Food and Beverage Director, Outlet Manager and Outlet Supervisors with maintaining all front of house inventory control levels to meet business volumes.
- Ensure all AGLC, casino and other provincial or federally mandated laws, policies and procedures are understood and adhered to at all times.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with all guests, food and beverage staff and other casino departmental staff.
- Must report to work on time and in a clean uniform.
- Must maintain proper hygiene and grooming at all times.
- Communicate to the Outlet Manager or Supervisor any issues that may require assistance to remedy.
- Attend meetings and training programs when required.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Requires a high school diploma
- A valid Alberta Pro Serve Certificate.
- Experience working with POS systems is required.
- Cantonese, Mandarin and English language is preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience with Asian culture is preferred.
- Knowledge of gambling etiquettes and Asian culture is preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- 2+ years’ experience in a server capacity working in a fast-paced environment.
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills are required in order to promote and deliver impeccable service and standards at all times.
- Possess excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills; strong verbal and written communication skills are required as well as attention to detail.
- Ability to work and thrive in a team-oriented environment, and be able to function independently also.
- Ability to work in a physically demanding area and be familiar with a high-volume, fast-paced, multi-tasking environment.
- Must be able to provide attentive and discreet service to high -profile guests, ensuring memorable dining and gambling experience.
- Must be able to maintain culturally appropriate and professional demeanor at all times.
- Must be able to handle special requests and accommodations promptly and efficiently.
- Must be able to collaborate with kitchen, bar and gaming staff to ensure timely deliver of food, beverages and stay informed about VIP guests’ preferences and provide personalized recommendations.
- Must be available for shift-work to coincide with high limit gaming schedule.
- Must be available to work nights, holidays and weekends.
- Must be able to stand or work on feet for long periods of time.
- Must be aware of and able to work in a smoking environment.
- May require lifting weight of up to approximately 50 lbs.
