House of Dawn specializes in Modern and Delightful Asian fusion cuisine with globe inspirations and also offers a large cocktail lounge area, the first of its kind in Richmond.
We are currently looking for experienced individuals who drive positivity, quality and consistency - a team that loves food and beverage, people, most importantly likes to have fun!

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Previous minimum 1-year experience as Hostess/Lead Hostess at a high-volume restaurant
  • Previous Opentable experience or relative Reservation Software is an asset
  • A passion and commitment to hospitality, teamwork, fun and the guest experience.
  • A commitment to fostering a supportive and engaging experience for your team members and guests.
  • A willingness to learn and an openness to feedback, coaching, and mentorship.
  • Scheduling flexibility (Must be available on Weekend)
  • Work Permit

Responsibilities:

  • Welcome and greet guests as they enter the restaurant, offering a warm and friendly introduction.
  • Assist the guests over the phone with warm and friendly manner for different guests needs
  • Manage guest reservations, record special requests, and arrange seating accordingly.
  • Provide guests with accurate wait times, ensuring they have a comfortable waiting area.
  • Maintain a well-organized reservation book and seating plan to optimize table allocation.
  • Coordinate with the servers and management team to manage smooth table turnovers and ensure efficient seating.
  • Escort guests to their assigned tables, presenting menus
  • Handle guest inquiries, including menu information, directory in neighourhood, and special requests.
  • Monitor table rotations with frequent table status update to balance the workload for servers and optimize guest flow.
  • Assist in setting up the dining area, ensuring that tables are properly arranged and clean.
  • Perform other job duties as requested by management team
