REQUIREMENTS

  • A diploma or Bachelors Degree in human resource management, business administration, and/or any other related field
  • 6 - 8 years’ experience in a similar role, preferably in a local or international law firm
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite
  • Effective communication and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrable project management and change management experience
  • Strong interpersonal and networking skills, ability to cultivate relationships across teams
  • Ability to function independently, effectively and professionally in a constantly changing environment

Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE

Providence Law Asia is seeking an experienced HR executive to supervise and manage all aspects of the firm’s HR matters, including but not limited to the firm’s (i) recruitment activities and events, (ii) performance management process, (iii) onboarding and orientation processes, (iv) resource management and budgeting work, (v) internal and external compliance with regulatory authorities, and (vi) developing and executing the firm’s HR policies and procedures.
This role is most suited for a motivated, self-driven and organised individual, who is willing to learn the ropes of working alongside lawyers in a fast-paced and professional working environment. You will be reporting to the Directors of the firm, and will be managing and assisted by a junior HR associate.

RESPONSIBILITIES

You will be responsible for ensuring that all administrative and operational work for HR related matters is completed and executed by the junior HR associate in a timely and effective manner.

In addition, you will be responsible for the planning, management and analysis of HR related work for the firm:

  • Resource management and budgeting : conducting analysis and providing suggestions on the utilisation of the firm’s resources; planning and preparing the firm’s HR budget
  • Compliance : checking the requirements and managing the process for all submissions to regulatory authorities, e.g. MOM, Law Society, etc
  • Policies and welfare : conducting a gap analysis and proposing improvements for the firm’s HR policies; manage employee surveys, analyse data and propose improvements for firm/employee satisfaction and welfare, and compiling HR data as appropriate; developing a people-oriented culture that emphasizes quality, continuous improvement, teamwork and high performance; work with team to improve relationships, build morale and increase productivity
  • Recruitment : screening applications, conducting interviews and making offers in consultation with the firm’s Directors; conducting onboarding, orientation and induction for all employees and interns; planning and organising recruitment events, and proposing and managing the selection and call process for trainees; building and maintaining networks, and planning for school outreach programmes
  • Cessation of employment / grievance handling : handling the process of placements on performance improvement plans, grievance handling and all matters related to the cessation of employment
  • Performance management : conducting and managing the performance appraisal process and feedback sessions, preparing and updating performance matrices, and collating and analysing data obtained from appraisals and feedback sessions
