Description:
JOB SUMMARY
Advanced Refrigeration & Air, Inc., a family-owned/operated business with over 38 years and a leader in commercial refrigeration service, air conditioning sales, and installations at 5 locations throughout the state of Florida, has a great career opportunity for an experienced HR professional to serve in a generalist capacity as a Human Resource Generalist performing the following functions:
- Recruitment (advertisement, phone screens, interviews, background checks)
- Benefits Administration
- Onboarding/offboarding employees
- Work comp and OSHA coordination/reporting
- Layoff/unemployment monitoring/management
- Leave administration (FMLA, work comp, STD/LTD)
- Process insurance elections/deductions in payroll.
- Maintain benefits data in HR software (Employee Navigator)
- Provides ongoing support with employee relations, counseling, employee development, and corrective action issues. Guides managers in preparing performance improvement plans, performance coaching, and separations.
- Employee handbook administration/revisions
- File vehicle accident/windshield insurance claims
- Employment law and regulatory compliance responsibilities.
- Complete requests for verification of employment, garnishments, child support, government surveys/questionnaires
- Full-time position working 40 hours/week, M-F (no evenings, weekends, or major holidays).
- Work on-site based out of the Orlando office. Minimal travel to 4 other locations.
EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Finance, or related field with a minimum of three (3) years of relevant HR experience OR Associate’s degree in human resources, Business, Finance, or related field with a minimum of 4-5 years of relevant HR experience required.
- Well-versed in recruitment strategies using various platforms and social media outlets
- Ability to adapt quickly and adjust to the ever-changing employment and benefits landscape.
- Strong knowledge of employment law and HR compliance regulations/requirements.
- Strong customer service skills to deal with employee relation issues and calmly and positively handle potentially challenging employees and/or situations.
- Be comfortable/confident working in one’s HR department.
- Be a self-starter requiring minimal supervision and direction in an often busy, fast-paced work environment.
- Computer efficient with Word, Excel, and Outlook, including benefits software.
- Personable and friendly demeanor.
- Familiarity with commercial refrigeration and or HVAC or trades industry, especially with recruitment, is a plus.
