Responsibilities:
- Support the labour relations function, where relevant, and ensure labour relations management is exercised effectively within the business unit
- Manage and respond to labour relations and human resource inquiries related to policies, procedures, and bargaining agreements; refer complex matters to appropriate management staff.
- Assist with preparation of documents and records required for contract negotiations, meetings, and negotiations with employee and labor organizations.
- Support the implementation and administration of the Performance and Professional Development program
- Coordinate training initiatives as required by supporting and coaching business leaders
- Advise regional leaders and support engagement initiatives and communications
- Support recruitment and retention initiatives and onboarding programs
- Participate in workforce planning based on market changes and operational needs
- Actively participate in and support talent acquisition related activities and internal CBI Health job posting practices
- Support and administer health and safety initiatives and employee disability claims in partnership with the disability management team and operations leaders (Worker’s Compensation, modified work, leaves of absence)
- Ensure compliance with all elements of applicable provincial legislation
- Assist in preparing and analyzing HR metrics
- Prepare and review employee documentation including but not limited to employee recognition, coaching, corrective actions, offers, changes of status and termination materials
- Support and guide regional leadership in all areas of employment legislative requirements and escalate to the HR Manager as appropriate
