Responsibilities:

THE ROLE:

An exciting opportunity for a HR Generalist to work site based, across our 2 Northern Facilities, The Manor Complex in Kings Meadows and Rubicon Grove in Port Sorell.

To be successful in this role you will ideally have experience working in a busy and dynamic Human Resource environment, with a genuine commitment to assisting and supporting staff and managers with HR practices. Working as part of a small geographically dispersed team, you will be exposed to a broad range of HR activities ranging from recruitment, staff inductions, employment condition changes, organisation of events, workers compensation, and providing support to Precinct Managers with Employee welfare, absenteeism and low-level staffing matters.
Your approachable and professional communication style will see you build a strong rapport with staff, promoting employee confidence in the delivery of responsive, confidential, and effective human resources functions. Your flexibility and can-do attitude will support the successful delivery of a wide variety of tasks for our diverse teams.

As the HR Officer you will have the opportunity to:

  • Be the first point of contact for and triage all HR issues.
  • Liaise with rostering and Precinct Mangers to establish vacancies, recruitment and selection processes including creating advertisements for vacant positions, supporting shortlisting processes, interviews, reference checks and acknowledging successful and unsuccessful applicants.
  • Support the end-to-end employee life cycle and experience.
  • Attend Workplace Safety Committee meetings.
  • Organise and attend on site events (Years of Service, Appreciation).
  • Manage Parental Leave process for Precinct employees.
  • On-site support to staff for workplace injuries and assist return to work coordination.
  • Support and assist Precinct Managers with welfare absenteeism reports and meetings

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE ROLE

  • Minimum of 1-2+ years experience in a similar role.
  • Qualifications in Human Resources or similar, or relevant experience.
  • Excellent communication skills with a customer focus.
  • Strong time management and organisation skills.
  • Strong IT skills, including the use of Microsoft office, human resource’s management systems and online learning platforms..
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Desire to support the HR team and an energy and enthusiasm to learn new skills
