Description:

The Canadian Light Source Inc. (CLSI) is a national research facility of the University of Saskatchewan. CLS produces very bright light to explore the nature and structure of molecules, and serves national and international users from academia, industry, and government institutions.
CLSI is now accepting applications for an Industrial Science Project Coordinator position within our Industrial Science department. The Industrial Science Project Coordinator is responsible for providing a wide range of logistical and administrative coordination and support in executing Industrial Science program goals. This position is responsible for contract administration, development and maintenance of division policies and procedures, and overseeing day-to-day activities with respect to Industrial Science projects.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A relevant undergraduate degree is required.
  • A minimum of three years of experience is required.
  • Ability to deal with highly sensitive and confidential information as part of daily duties.
  • Highly focused with strong attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong analytical and interpretive skills.
  • A professional designation is not required but would be an asset.
    Salary Range: The Salary Range is $69,880 - $94,544. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
    Remuneration: Remuneration will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. A comprehensive benefits package, including supplemental health & dental, life insurance, pension plan, and four weeks’ vacation is part of a competitive compensation package.

Responsibilities:

  • Acts as the Industrial Science Group (ISG) liaison and point of contact with the CLSI Contracts Specialist, the CLS User Services office, and other groups when relevant.
  • Serves as the primary point of contact for beamtime purchased access and academic mail-in program.
  • Provide project administration (maintaining client management system, compiling deliverables, creating administrative reports, etc.)
  • Ensures the smooth and efficient day-to-day operation of industrial project activities.
  • Working with the Industrial Science Manager develops, implements, and maintains the quality program for Industrial Science; establishes and co-ordinates departmental procedures and metrics.
  • Oversees maintenance of data and departmental client sample archives.
  • Assists the Industrial Science Manager in reporting on the performance of the Industrial Science Group through the tracking of client statistics and key performance indicators (KPI).
  • Undertakes initiatives related to departmental goals such as project audits and client feedback surveys.
  • Gather statistics and data to create various reports related to program evaluation.
  • Provides tours, group briefings and develops material for presentations as needed.
  • Ensures Service Contracts and associated Statements of Work are in effect, executed, completed, and invoiced.
  • Helps maintain appropriate contract documentation and invoice preparation for industry clients.
  • Provides assistance with research security initiatives related to industrial clients.
  • Provides basic contractual backup of the CLSI Contracts Specialist duties relating to ISG in event the CLSI Contracts Specialist is unavailable.
  • Working flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, may be a requirement of the position.
