Position Summary:
Supports order and delivery interaction between customers and Gordon Food Service (GFS) via telephone, email. Seeks growth opportunities with existing customers through knowledge and professionalism. Strengthens customer relationships by representing GFS products and services for assigned territory and accounts. Promotes and utilizes e-Commerce technologies.

Essential Functions:

  • Serves as liaison between the outside Customer Development Specialist (CDS) and partners within the organization.
  • Manages customer orders (telephoned, emailed, electronic or faxed). Communicate with customers regarding out of stocks and substitution options.
  • Maintains knowledge of specific GFS systems, distribution centers and products.
  • Mentors new call center representatives.
  • Attends on-going training sessions.
  • Arranges exception deliveries in collaboration with Transportation departments and other delivery services.
  • Determines appropriate credits for customers.
  • Collaborates with CDS on customer pricing exceptions; leverages GFS resources to increase territory growth.
  • Facilitates discussion of negotiation of products and pricing with the customer.
  • Support CDSs and customers with order guide management, creating quotelists, invoice comparisons and creating reporting.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:

  • Must have excellent written, verbal, organizational and communication skills as well as problem-solving capabilities. Must have the ability to multi-task, prioritize and be able to work independently or within a team environment. Must have good customer service and time management skills.
