JOB TITLE: Investment Manager - Housing Growth Partnership
LOCATION(S): Bristol
HOURS: Full Time
WORKING PATTERN: The role will require travel and an expectation of spending at least 3 days per week across both the Bristol and initially the Birmingham offices. However we’re a client facing business and are advocates of agile working, so we’ll be pleased to consider applications from candidates wishing to work any flexible arrangement.
About this opportunity
The Housing Growth Partnership (HGP) is an equity investor passionate about accelerating the delivery of new homes across the UK. We do this by investing alongside SME housebuilders and developers across a range of residential tenures. HGP is a joint venture between Lloyds Banking Group (LBG) and the UK government, via Homes England. All HGP colleagues are provided and employed by LBG.
HGP has invested over £450m of equity to date supporting the delivery of c.12,000 new homes across the UK with a GDV of c.£3.8Bn. Reflecting the increasingly important role that equity funding can play in bringing forward new schemes and the regeneration of communities, HGP provides a vital source of capital in the UK housing market. Further details can be found on our website www.housinggrowth.com.
We’re looking for someone who can join a team responsible for investing across the South West. You’ll focus on the origination and execution of new investments and managing HGP’s existing investment portfolio in the region working closely with our Midlands and Wales office.
Join HGP and…
Support the team to invest and manage HGP investments alongside SME housebuilders and developers across a range of residential developments and housing tenures. This includes private for sale, private rental (PRS/BTR), student and retirement living.
Assist HGP in growing its profile in the South West and to support the origination of new investments. This will require contributing to and delivering the regional origination strategy, working closely with the Midlands and Wales team.
Support and where appropriate lead all facets of deal execution. This includes evaluation of development appraisals and financial analysis, deal structuring and preparing investment proposals, negotiation, due diligence and legal documentation.
Help manage the existing South West investment portfolio which will require working with SME housebuilder management teams and external advisers to oversee and support the successful build out and sale of residential developments.

What you’ll need

  • Effective oral and written communication at all levels and across different audiences.
  • Adept in both internal and external stakeholder management to deliver results.
  • Ability to originate new opportunities through building and maintaining effective regional relationships across housebuilders/developers, advisors and lenders.
  • Financial analysis, including cash flow modelling and financial structuring encompassing debt and equity.
  • Scope and manage due diligence workstreams to evaluate each new development and support HGP’s investment case.
  • Relevant sector experience in residential property development and/ or residential property finance (debt or equity) would be ideal but not a pre-requisite.
