Description:

Overview
Provide dedicated technical support to a large distribution centre for all hardware (RF devices, printers, computers, etc.), software (MS applications, Warehouse Management System, etc.), telephony (VOIP) and networking devices.

Responsibilities

  • Support and troubleshoot supply chain applications (WMS/LM/SAP)
  • Troubleshoot and repair hardware (talkmans, handhelds, truck mounts, wireless access devices, IP camera components, label printers, computer room equipment)
  • Deskside support for MS Office, mobile devices, other PC/laptop and application support
  • VOIP support
  • Support and troubleshoot network equipment (switches, routers, access points, etc.)
  • Manage third party vendors and coordinate onsite work
  • Be the main point of contact for internal and external stakeholders at the Distribution Centre
  • Train end-users for newly implementation technology
  • Maintain RF (radio-frequency) equipment, manage the returns and repairs process
  • Provide after-hours on-call support during scheduled on-call rotation

Qualifications

  • 5+ years’ experience in IT support with demonstrated troubleshooting knowledge for both hardware and software
  • 1+ year experience supporting a distribution, logistics or warehouse environment is an asset
  • Understanding of warehouse management systems or equivalent ERP system
  • Able to troubleshoot and/or repair RF (radio frequency) equipment is an asset
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Able and willing to work in a distribution centre/warehouse environment
  • Post-secondary education or equivalent work experience
  • Must have a full driver’s licence and access to a vehicle for travel to customer sites within Halifax
