We are looking for a Junior Accountant to join our Finance Team based in the Sydney office. The successful candidate will be highly motivated, welcome responsibility, enjoy detail-oriented tasks, take initiative and have huge attention to detail.
The role will require a high degree of self-sufficiency, organisational skills, pro-activity and an ability to enjoy a quick-paced and busy environment.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Daily cash balance reporting across multiple currencies
  • Preparation of invoices to be sent to various customers
  • Handling cash management, including the preparation of payments for approval, and managing inter-company funding
  • Maintaining banking filing system
  • Regular liaison with banks as necessary on any queries relating to disputed transactions, account opening and maintenance issues.
  • Bank reconciliations, accounts payable preparation, assistance with month-end accounting processes etc
  • Assistance in preparation of schedules for audit and other specific projects.
  • Ad hoc projects including assistance with system implementation, collaborating with other internal teams.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Should be a fresh graduate from University and/or looking for intial commercial experience
  • Currently undergoing/willing to undergo CA/CPA
  • Highly proficient excel skills, including ability to work with excel filters and/or pivot tables in order to work with large volumes of data in multiple currencies.
  • Committed to improving internal processes and identifying inefficiencies.
  • Be committed to be working flexible hours, particularly during month end.
  • Able to work autonomously.
  • Able to cope with time and pressure deadlines and a strong focus to detail.
  • Excellent communication and numerical skills.
