Description:
QUALIFICATIONS (YOUR PROFILE):
- Bs. Engineering degree (mechanical, industrial, chemical, electrical, etc.)
- Single-risk property underwriting experience (min 2-3 years).
- Sound knowledge of reinsurance in property/engineering lines of business.
- Practical experience in risk management/risk inspections either on commercial and/or industrial plants is of advantage (Loss Control Engineering).
- Experience / Interest in dealing with LA - South American markets.
- Experience / Knowledge in digital solutions / UW platforms is of advantage.
- High degree of client orientation, negotiation & marketing skills, and interest in finding innovative client solutions.
- Intercultural competence, delight, and ability to work as a team player in multidisciplinary/international environments.
- High degree of commitment, flexibility, and willingness to travel.
- Business-fluent (written and spoken) Spanish and English.
- Excellent knowledge and practice of Munich Re’s underwriting tools (FAB, FPP, FROGs, Risk Mapper) and other modeling tools.

Responsibilities:
- Pro-active enhancement and expansion of business relationships in direct contact with cedants and brokers with a clear focus on the acquisition of new profitable business.
- Assessing and underwriting property single risks for our clients in the LA South region, including risk assessment, policy wording analysis, pricing, quotation, and implementing business acquisition tactics following target portfolio, risk appetite, underwriting guidelines and authorities, client segmentation, and business unit strategy.
- Developing and executing engineered risk-management concepts including risk inspections for target risks and supporting clients on risk assessment matters.
- Supporting the team on strategy implementation, underwriting quality assurance, and business development, living up to standards of the 4-eye principle.
- Supporting local office, Client Management (CM), Claims / Loss Control Engineering (LCE), and MR treaty underwriting departments on technical questions and business development by taking a high degree of personal initiative and consistently exploiting all synergies available within Munich Re in LA but also worldwide.
- Closely interacting with clients, understanding their needs and business strategy for developing joint opportunities with innovative approaches (products, solutions).
- Supporting seminars, and workshops for clients on local and regional basis.
- Actively contributing to ensure opinion leadership within the property re/insurance community in the region.
- Taking on special projects/initiatives, e.g.: within multidisciplinary Mission Teams on local and regional scale.
