The Division of Juvenile Justice is recruiting to fill a Juvenile Justice Counselor 1/2 position in Anchorage at the Mclaughlin Youth Center, Secure Treatment Unit.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

In addition to the Minimum Qualifications below, we are looking for a candidate with the following competencies:

EDUCATION

To verify education being used to meet the required minimum qualifications, you must fill in the Education section of the application. SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR FOREIGN EDUCATION

It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying. Omission of required documentation listed will result in an incomplete application and you will not receive further consideration.

WORK EXPERIENCE

The Secure Treatment Unit is a long-term treatment program for detained youth who require a more restrictive and highly structured program.
As a Juvenile Justice Counselor, you will be part of a team that is dedicated to making a difference in the lives of Alaskan youth. You will influence, inspire, and transform the lives of juvenile offenders and their families through therapeutic programs that incorporate a restorative justice approach to community protection, and drives the youth’s accountability and development.
