Position Summary:
This is a work-study position. Only McGill Students with work-study confirmation letter covering the contract period will be eligible to apply.
Under the direction of the Deputy Director of the Rosalind and Morris Goodman Cancer Institute (GCI), the incumbent will join the GCI research support team and the Biobar (

) and may perform some or all of the listed general administration functions. This position is research client-facing so an enthusiasm and willingness to become comfortable with research materials and to support the advancement of cancer research is essential for success in this role. These functions are of moderate complexity and the incumbent performs them using established instructions.
Specific Functions:
Administrative tasks supporting the operations of the GCI Biobar including:
- deliveries, stock maintenance, and client and vendor interactions.
Providing back-up and replacement in rotation with research support team members in tasks such as;
- Laboratory supplies delivery
- Replacement and removal of laboratory equipment
- Assisting with response procedures in the event of laboratory or facility issue
- Assisting with implementation of research support projects and events
Contract Period: November 04, 2024 to May 03, 2025
Education & Experience:
- High School diploma with minimal or no experience.
- Preference will be for candidates with some previous experience in research and/or laboratory settings.
- Candidate must be a McGill Student with a Work-Study eligibility.
Knowledge of French and English: McGill University is an English-language university where day to day duties may require English communication both verbally and in writing. The level of English required for this position has been assessed at a level 3 (qualifier) on a scale of 0-4
