QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- 3 or more years of Industry experience as a Lead Hand.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Must have a valid driver’s license G license and a clean driver abstract.
- Be able to drive a truck and trailer.
- A pesticide license is an asset.
- Skilled in proper mowing, trimming, edging, and weed removal techniques.
- General knowledge or recognition of proper planting techniques as well as some plant identification.
- Strong knowledge of the use of various tools and equipment.
- Strong ability managing snow removal projects and a willingness to work hours associated with it.

Responsibilities:
JOB DUTIES:
This position will involve assisting in the daily management of maintenance projects for Oakridge Landscape Contractors. This position also includes the use of numerous types of job-related equipment and is physically demanding outdoor work.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Experience and capability of managing crews in place of foreperson.
- Ensure all the necessary equipment is located and properly stored or restrained within the trailer before leaving each site.
- Inspect all equipment confirming that they are greased, fueled appropriately, and in good working order.
- Assist with morning circle checks of both the truck and trailer before leaving the yard.
- Ensure that each day an informal morning tailgate is discussed with crew members regarding any safety issues that must be rectified and/or avoided on each site.
- Review the job site plan before beginning work and ensure that quality workmanship is evident on each project and is completed in the allotted time frame.
- Train assigned work crew to ensure litter is picked up before mowing any area, grass cuttings, and trimming debris is picked up and removed from both hard and soft scapes before moving on to another section.
- At every site, remove weeds from planting areas, pots, driveways, and parking areas, edge all beds and tree pits, trim shrubs and trees as required, and plant flowers and other plants as needed.
- Manage daily labor force, equipment usage, and materials.
- Maintain positive and open communications with the Foreperson, Superintendents, Owners, PMs, General Contractors, etc.
- Be familiar with each employee’s responsibilities.
- Assist the foreperson as required.
