YOUR SKILLSET
- Leadership experience within a high-autonomy and accountability environment
- Software development tools and practices applied to the data engineering domain
- Proven experience: A proven track record of building and optimising data infrastructure at scale
- Technical expertise: Deep understanding of data orchestration, ingestion, processing and storage mechanisms, along with knowledge of modern query engines
- Strong proficiency in Python and SQL
- Extensive experience with modern data technologies (e.g., BigQuery, Airflow, Spark, Kafka)
Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and processes
- Optimise data storage and retrieval systems for efficiency and cost-effectiveness
- Mentor and guide your team of data engineers, providing technical leadership and code reviews
- Partner cross-functionally with engineers, data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to identify and fulfil data requirements, while championing best practices, data tooling and processesWork on improving data quality, accessibility, findability and usability across the organisation
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex data-related issues
- Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in data engineering, particularly within the Google Cloud ecosyste
