Description:
21 HOURS PER WEEK, 52 WEEKS PER YEAR.
We are currently seeking a dynamic and dedicated individual to join our team as a Psychology Lecturer. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality education to students across our Criminology and A Level provision, spanning from Level 2 to Level 6, for both 16 to 19-year-olds and adults. The post-holder will need to be innovative in their teaching methods and responsible for aspects of leadership within the curriculum.

Responsibilities of our Lecturer in Psychology:
- Deliver high-quality, engaging and challenging teaching and learning, employing innovative and interactive teaching methods to ensure stretch, challenge, and engagement of students of all ages and abilities
- Leading, coordinating and supporting course activities to achieve curriculum area targets, including collation and submission of financial claims to appropriate funding bodies and partners as required
- Planning, preparing and updating all relevant teaching documentation including schemes of work, lesson plans and online learning materials using Canvas
- Facilitating academic tutorials, contributing to marketing, promotion. Recruitment and interviewing of students and participating in open events, schools tasters and enrolment events.
- Assessing, monitoring and recording timely feedback to students, leading IV/IQA processes, and contributing to quality assurance processes and curriculum design within the area.
- Maintaining up to date knowledge of the subject specialism by attending appropriate professional/ vocational updating.
- Attend meetings and communicating with colleagues within the curriculum area as and when required
- Leading, coordinating and supporting course activities that will support the achievement of curriculum area targets. Accurately carry out the qualification completion process within the departmental systems in a timely manner
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR IN OUR LECTURER IN PSYCHOLOGY:
- Specialism in Psychology
- Cert. Ed/PGCE or willingness to work towards
- Previous experience in teaching subject specialism including BTEC and WJEC qualifications
- Experience working within Further/Higher education
- Experience of course leadership
- The ability to work as a professional team member and able to liaise with tutors, employers, awarding bodies and other agencies
- The ability to work flexibly, including evening and weekend work
