Position Profile
Reporting to the Planning Manager, the Maintenance Planner is responsible for planning the scheduled maintenance activities within the AMO by identifying the maintenance requirements and translating this information into the work package that includes the Job cads, bill of materials and resources list.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain the work package based on defined work scope provided by the customer.
  • Create and maintain routine work orders and a routine tally listed on the work package.
  • Create and maintain the list of all materials, consumables, rotables and services required to complete the aircraft maintenance and or modification based on the customer requirements and approved data.
  • Maintain a framework in the ERP system (Job cards and Part IDs) to control the maintenance tasks and expedite the creation of work packages.
  • Identify risks and propose mitigation plans for upcoming projects before the aircraft induction.
  • With the needed Subject matter experts, generate the baseline sequencing of the work package into time-phase blocks of work. Provide these time-phased details to Supply Chain for Materials planning and estimating.
  • Generate an initial Capacity Plan for executing the project including trade personnel, hangar space, tool, fixtures, equipment, and outside services that will be required. Feed these details into the MRO Master Schedule to coordinate resources across projects.
  • Alter the details of the project as needed to fit the Master Schedule and formally release the work package, update the precedence network as work progresses to dynamically recalculate the critical path, formal closure of the work package at final completion.
  • Develop, publish, and maintain a depiction of the work sequence, milestones, and current status of the project. Ensure high visibility in the shops as well as on electronic dashboards.
  • Solicit feedback from Technicians, Working Leads, and Crew Chiefs regarding enhancements to be made to the Maintenance Plan. Capture and process lessons learned on task card content, clarity, sequencing, trades required, or durations. Build improvements into the sequence for future use.
  • Identify scheduled changes related to parts, tools, and engineering and liaise with relevant departments to mitigate or eliminate the impact.

Education and Experience Qualifications

  • Degree/Diploma in Aviation or related field.
  • Minimum two (2) years’ experience with Aircraft Maintenance and/or operations.
  • Aircraft maintenance planning will be considered an asset.
  • Experience using MRP / ERP systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, aircraft manuals, service bulletins, STCs and ADs.
  • Experience with technical writing.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint within a MS Windows environment.
