An exciting opportunity has become available for a Leadership Position to join the Engineering Department of Forbes Shire Council.
Reporting directly to the Director Engineering, the Manager Engineering will provide management of Council’s survey and design functions as well as provide technical expertise to other Council departments and divisions to ensure successful completion of operational and project requirements in line with Council’s Community Strategic Plan, Delivery Plan and Operational Plan. This role will be accountable for high quality, timely designs across all operational, and major strategic projects, as well as management of external agencies involved in highly technical design.
Flexible Work Opportunities including a hybrid / remote / on-site, will be considered for the successful candidate.

EXPERIENCE
- Demonstrated experience in Civil Engineering Design and plan preparation.
- Demonstrated experience in the use of a Robotic Total Station and Machine Control.
- Demonstrated experience in Traffic Matters and preparing reports for Traffic Advisory Committee.
- Demonstrated high level time management skills with a drive to complete all work to a high level of competence.
- Demonstrated experience in the use of workplace safety, quality systems and environmental assessment.
- Demonstrated high level written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to make sound decisions using judgement and initiative.
Desirable
- Registered Professional Engineer on the National Engineering Register (NER) with Engineers Australia / Chartered Professional Engineer (or ability to achieve).
- Tertiary Qualification in Project Management &/or demonstrated equivalent industry experience.
- Level 2 Road Safety Auditor Certificate.
- Remote Pilot License (RePL), or ability to obtain.
- Local Government Experience or related industry
