EXCITING OPPORTUNITY FOR A LABOUR RELATIONS SPECIALIST AND STAKEHOLDER MANAGEMENT IN THE MINING INDUSTRY!

Are you a seasoned professional in labour relations, with a passion for addressing Trade Union matters and fostering positive relationships in the mining sector? This rapidly growing mining company is seeking an exceptional Labour Relations Specialist to join their team and lead initiatives across Limpopo and Northwest Provinces.

Requirements:

  • BBBEE role, must have a law degree and a Postgraduate qualification in labour relations.
  • Must be able to converse well in Sepedi.
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in Unionised Environments, with a strong background in the Mining industry specifically onsite engagement with mine workers and communities.
  • Proven track record in CCMA Arbitration, Contract drafting, and handling complex labour-related challenges.
  • Strong advocacy and negotiation skills, with a proactive approach to dispute resolution.
  • Dynamic and well-spoken, able to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Mentor and train Labour Relations intern.
  • Willingness to travel extensively with own transportation

Responsibilities:

  • Handle Trade Union matters within the Mines in Limpopo and Northwest Provinces, ensuring compliance and constructive dialogue.
  • Based in Pretoria, with regular travel to the Mines in both Provinces to engage with stakeholders and resolve issues proactively.
  • Lead CCMA Arbitration processes from start to finish, demonstrating strong legal acumen and negotiation skills.
  • Draft Contracts and agreements, ensuring clarity and alignment with legal requirements and company policies.
  • Engage and solve Community Challenges related to Mining operations, fostering positive relationships and sustainable practices.
  • Design and develop Social Labour Plans, promoting community development and social responsibility.
  • Design and implement Employment Equity Plans, driving inclusivity and diversity within the workforce.
  • Handle complex Disciplinary Matters with fairness and adherence to legal procedures.
  • Dynamically communicate, both verbally and in writing, to effectively engage with stakeholders and resolve disputes.
  • Resolve Union and Community tensions through strategic interventions and conflict resolution techniques.
