The Magistrates’ Court of Victoria (MCV) is a jurisdiction within the Court Services Victoria statutory authority, and has a long history of providing justice for the people of Victoria in metropolitan and regional courts across the state. The Court determines in excess of 300,000 cases per annum at 51 venues, equating to approximately 90 per cent of all cases that come before Victorian courts each year. The Court aims to be an innovative, accessible and responsive court that provides quality services to the Victorian community.
About the role
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Operational Policy and Continuous Improvement and in consultation with the judiciary and the Principal Registrar, the Manager, Legislative and Operational Support Team role will assist the Senior Manager, Operational Policy and Continuous Improvement with reviews of registry practices and standards across all venues of the Court. This role will be required to assist with managing the review and audit of registry practices, provide expert and authoritative advice, provide solutions to complex issues, ensure improved quality of services and undertake investigations as directed. It will also play a key role in assisting with the implementation of new legislative reforms and significant projects which directly impact Court Operations. This role will oversee the day to day management of the Legislative and Operational Support Team.
About you
The successful candidate will have experience as a Court Registrar with a broad but detailed knowledge of Victorian Court and registry procedures, experience in the delivery of key legislative reforms which directly impact Court Operations and will oversee the implementation of projects to operationalise new reforms and new or existing policies and procedures.
