Description:
Overview:
Under the direction of Credentialing and Medical Staff Operations (CMSO) Manager, Medical Staff Operations (Regional or Facility), the Medical Staff Operations Credentialing Coordinator – Intermediate performs practitioner appointment, privileging and/or reappointment services in compliance with the CMSO policies and procedures, the facility Medical Staff policies and procedures, the guidelines and standards of the applicable regulatory bodies (i.e. TJC, DNV, AAAHC, etc.), as well as all other applicable State and Federal laws. Creates and maintains practitioner credentialing files within the credentialing database, verifying practitioners have met appointment, reappointment and privileging requirements and are eligible for the staff/advanced practice provider category requested. Prepares and tracks documentation through the review and approval process; initiating and mailing approval letters and updating the database upon final approval by the Board of Trustees/Directors.

Qualifications:
- Education: High School Diploma or GED, required.
- Experience: Three years Medical Staff Services/CVO/Provider Enrollment, required.
- Licensure/Certification: Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist or Certified Professional Medical Services ManagementStaff, preferred.
- Additional Skills (required):
- Ability to flex communication style to multiple cultural environments.
- Proficiency in computer word processing, spreadsheets and database applications.
- Effective verbal, non-verbal and written communication skills.
- Skills in establishing and maintaining effective relationships with senior management and leaders, physicians, practice management, and governmental agency representatives.
- Strong organizational skills, ability to adhere to deadlines and protocols.
- Ability to work under pressure and react calmly and effectively in difficult situations.
- Ability to learn and maintain knowledge of applicable State, Federal and other applicable regulatory bodies (ie. TJC, DNV, AAAHC regulations and protocols).
- Ability to perform in a fast-paced, multi-task environment with flexibility as needed.
- Ability to be a team player and take initiative.
- Ability to work under deadlines and heavy workloads.
- Ability to work with all levels of healthcare personnel from top management to entry level clerks throughout the organization.
- Ability to take action on a suggested approach within guidelines of standards and procedures.
- Ability to be flexible and quickly change priorities is critical.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Additional Skills (preferred): Knowledge of the Echo Credentialing Database.
