Multi-physics Structural Engineer/Expert in Railway industry (m/f/d)

Our customer is one of the largest passenger train manufactures in the world. The products of our customer include all types of passenger railway vehicles from high speed trains, Maglev, intercity trains, to metro, tram-trains, light rail vehicles etc. In order to expand the research team in Aachen Germany, the company is looking for a talent with extensive experience in Structural mechanic to join and assist the team leader to manage the team together.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

• Perform structural mechanic analysis and optimization of rolling stock systems, ensuring they meet performance, reliability, and safety requirements
• Evaluation of structural-mechanical tests, considering the applicable standards and guidelines
• Documentation of the calculation and test results
• Support the project team with regards to the EU homologation, in the aspect of technology

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Master in in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Physics, or related field.
• At least 3 years of professional experience in the field of numerical simulation (FEM), material modelling and screw calculation
• Knowledge of weld seam design and fatigue strength calculation of metal structures and experience in measurement data processing
• Confident handling of HyperMesh, Abaqus is an advantage
• Knowledge of the programming languages Python and Matlab is desirable
• Fluent in English
• Capable of conducting projects independently
• Knowledge regarding structure mechanic in the field of railway industry is a plus
