TRANSFORM THE TREATMENT OF MAJOR DEPRESSIVE DISORDER:

Syntropic Medical is driving a revolution in the treatment of Major Depressive Disorder. Pharmaceutical antidepressants have long been a below par treatment standard with poor treatment outcomes and high rates of side effects. Syntropics groundbreaking research has led to the discovery of an entirely new method of treatment that targets the underlying causes of mental health disorders.
Syntropics’ first product is a non-invasive, wearable device for the treatment of depression. We activate the immune cells of the brain with stimulation delivered through the eyes to achieve faster and longer relief from depressive symptoms and eliminate adverse drug reactions. We are on a mission to transform the lives of those suffering from one of society’s most debilitating diseases.
We are looking for a Biomedical Research Associate to become the next key part of our growing team. You will play a key part in carrying out preclinical research into an exciting frontier of neuroscience. You will perform murine behavioural tests, histological analysis, immunochemistry, and stereological methods. The ideal candidate will also have experience in conducting and analysing ELISA experiments and may have some experience with clinical studies.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in biology, biotechnology, pharmacy, neuroscience, or related fields.
  • Previous experience in the field of biomedicine, with a particular focus on the biochemical analysis of biological samples (blood, urine, saliva, etc.).
  • Excellent problem-solving ability and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Investigating, designing, and executing pre-clinical experiments.
  • Analysing murine biological samples (blood, saliva, urine, etc.).
  • Performing histology, immunochemistry, and stereological methods.
  • Conducting and analysing ELISA experiments.
  • Identifying user needs through participation in the project start-up phase where interaction with key opinion leaders, doctors and other experts worldwide is crucial to realise our innovation targets.
  • Supporting the engineering team in concept development of groundbreaking products within the area of neurotechnology (e.g., wearable devices, electronic devices, connected devices, etc.).
  • Carrying out documentation and presentation of research results.
  • Utilising research data to identify potential new research targets and/or biomarkers of interest.
