The Role

  • Reporting to the Sales Manager Pilz Ireland, your primary role will be to support the sales team in all customer activities and to perform selected sales activities in the customer lifecycle relating to Pilz portfolio of products and services.
  • You will be in the front line of our business and often the first point of contact for prospects and customers.
  • You will respond proactively to inbound customer enquiries received through telephone, mail, Pilz WEB-site and other channels. Depending on the customer and need you will issue a customer response or allocate to Pilz external sales team or Pilz Customer Technical Support Team.
  • You will use the Pilz ERP and other Pilz sales and support data systems for generation of quotations, order processing and invoicing.
  • The expectation will be that you conduct outbound activities to engage with potential customers and prospects to identify their needs, drive interest in Pilz solutions to the point of receiving a request for quotation or generating a pipeline for Pilz salespersons to take the prospect or customer through the Pilz sales-lifecycle.
  • You will use Pilz CRM and other information on existing customers to qualify and generate a pipeline through prospecting inbound and outbound opportunities. You will become the champion for the Pilz CRM and the main point of contact for all Pilz CRM support queries and ensuring the CRM system is maintained to the highest standard possible.
  • You will be proud to represent Pilz as a leading brand in automation technology.

Key Responsibilities

  • Generate new business pipeline through proactive response to inbound opportunities.
  • Carry out outbound activities to qualify customers and contacts and create early-stage pipeline.
  • Lead follow-up based on information received from management/based on order history.
  • Present weekly updates on sales activities and customer updates based on data and reporting tools within the CRM.
  • Become a key user for CRM software to optimize the use of customer contact and for sales activities.
  • Liaise with external sales personnel to seamlessly transfer opportunities to the external sales team.
  • Leverage data to ensure customer satisfaction in response quality and time and KPI’s for achieving business performance.
  • Collaborate with Sales Manager and External Sales and Customer Technical support teams in the implementation of sales strategy and execution of growth objectives to drive revenue.
  • Research industry sectors and customers data to enrich sales campaigns and other activities.
  • Generation of sales reports as necessary, e.g. contacts, plans, competitor intelligence.
  • Processing of sales orders and support invoicing activities.
  • Ad hoc duties that may be assigned by the sales manager

The Person

  • You will be customer focused, self-motivated, reliable and dependable with a high level of integrity and drive.
  • A successful professional with experience in sales and sales support activities to a wide range of customers

Essential Criteria

  • A third level qualification or equivalent work experience in a related business discipline.
  • Calm and patient demeanor. Able to listen to customers and through strategic questioning and guide them to the right resources.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience inside sales, and/or sales with a focus on customer satisfaction and sales growth in a B2B environment selling in the industrial automation sector.
  • The candidate should have a hunter mindset that understands the importance of office based proactive sales activities including cold calling, emails and social selling.
  • We are looking for a confident communicator with excellent verbal and written skills that can practice effective listening.
  • A self-motivated person that has a desire for a fast-paced working environment that does not shy away from targets and KPIs.
  • Excellent communication skills with a meticulous approach to work with attention to detail.
  • High standard of computer literacy required, specifically including ERP’s, CRM’s and MS Tool applications.

Desirable Criteria

  • Worked in an inside sales role in the field of industrial automation to sectors including Pharmaceutical Bio-Pharmaceutical, Medical Technology, Food & Beverage as well as General Manufacturing Industry in Ireland.
  • Experience in SAP based ERP and CRM systems.
  • Proficient in the use of M365 applications including Power BI and Excel.
  • 3rd level qualifications and or professional development in sales or business administration.
